HELLO, VANILLA

Familiar and nostalgic. Evocative and romantic. Prized since the time of the ancient Aztecs, and often used in perfumes, Vanilla is one of the most popular aromas in the world, and one of the most expensive to produce. A perennial climbing vine that grows up to 75 feet, the Vanilla planifolia plant is in the Orchid family, with yellow-white flowers that produce odorless pods or beans.

Grapefruit is a positive and cleansing oil. It is also an energizing and uplifting oil. It's a perfect addition to your water each morning. Just drop one or two drops in your water in a stainless steel water bottle. Taken internally, it can aid in gently cleansing the body. Exploring using essential oils with cats is so fascinating. 🐈 

I feel so confident in using doTERRA oils around my kitties since their testing is so extensive and their purity is unmatched. 💛 Synthetic oils and scents can really have a negative effect on pets and the household in general so I avoid those to focus on doTERRA only. I have two cats at home with me now. I diffuse multiple times daily in all rooms of the house. My kitties actually love it and stay around for it but I always leave the door open to the room we are in case they want to leave. The only oil I've ever noticed one of my kitties did not like was Peppermint when I diffused it so I tend to avoid diffusing that one. I love to create new combos so I am always experimenting.

If you are exploring using essential oils on or around your pets it's always good to go slowly and see what their personality likes.

5 EASY NON-TOX HOME SWAPS

It's so easy to make simple non-toxic home swaps that help clear your home of toxic ingredients. Our home environment is so important to  overall health and well-being.  Some cleaners are among the most toxic products found in the home. Many household products contain toxic chemicals that can turn into air pollutants in your home environment. Most indoor air pollution originates from sources that release gases or particles into the air. Candles, air fresheners, cleaning products and other household items can create pollutants in your home.

One way to ensure that you know what’s in your cleaning products is to make them yourself. It's the best thing for you, for kids and your pets.

Here are 5 easy recipes

Multipurpose Cleaner

  • Mix 2 tbsp OnGuard Cleaning Concentrate

  • Water in a glass spray bottle

  • 10 - 12 drops of doTERRA essential oils. I use Lemon and Purify

Bathroom Soft Scrub

  • ¾ rounded cup baking soda

  • ¼ cup unscented liquid castile soap

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • 1 tablespoon vinegar

  • 5–10 drops Lemon oil

Room Spray

  • 1.5 ounces distilled water

  • 1.5 ounces witch hazel

  • 4-ounce spray bottle

  • 15 drops Bergamot oil

  • 10 drops Lavender oil

  • 10 drops Grapefruit oil

Hand Soap

  • 2 tablespoons unscented liquid castile soap

  • 1 tablespoon Fractionated Coconut Oil

  • 10 drops Lavender oil (or your favorite essential oil)

  • Water

Glass Cleaner

  • 16-ounce spray bottle

  • 1 ½ cup white vinegar

  • ½ cup distilled water

  • 8 drops of your citrus oil of choice


Diffusing essential oils to keep the air clear and uplifted instead of using a candle or air freshener is another great way to keep your indoor air clear of harmful chemicals.
