doTERRA WOODS OILS
/There are 8 classifications you can divide essential oils into - Citrus, Florals, Woods, Leaves, Herbs, Spices, Roots and Resins. Understanding these classifications can help you identify general attributes and characteristics of the oils. Within classifications oils can have common characteristics, although each oil individually has far more specific and unique properties.
Let's focus on the woods category in this post. Woods typically grow high off the ground and are characterized by a single trunk. Oils are distilled from the leaves, twigs, branches, berries, bark and wood.
In this grouping of oils, most can only be used aromatically or topically. The woods oils are also great for emotional purposes. Some of the common characteristics of woods oils are that they are grounding, centering and stabilizing. Below are a few of the woods oils and their properties.
